NEWFANE — Two larcenies from vehicles were reported in Newfane in less than 24 hours.
According to the reports filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the first larceny reportedly took place between 3 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday when an unknown person stole several tools from the toolbox mounted on a Brown Road man's pickup truck either while it was at his home overnight or earlier in the day while he was in Buffalo.
The report states that a DeWalt saw, Makita tool bag and drill, and tool bag with other various tools was taken from the unlocked tool box. In all, the value of the items was listed as $2,250.
The second reported theft occurred from two vehicles in a Rounds Road driveway. A pair of men said that sometime between 3:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday, someone stole $80 from one vehicle and $530 from another.
