TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A South Transit Road man found himself in Niagara County Jail after Sheriff's deputies say he harassed and threatened a neighbor mowing his lawn.
According to the arrest report, Carl A. Dege, 51, 6589 South Transit Road, was yelling at the neighbor Saturday evening, an ongoing problem, the neighbor said.
"Dege walked away momentarily then returned. This time Dege pulled a five-foot metal fence post out of the ground and started thrusting it towards (the complainant's) face," the arrest report states. "Dege then hit (the neighbor's) mower with the post."
The report further says that Dege threw two punches at the complainant and threatened to kill him before walking away.
Dege was charged with third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. He was arraigned in Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail on $500 bail. He is to return to Town of Lockport Court on Aug. 8.
