NEWFANE — An East Avenue man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that sometime between 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday, someone took $800 in cash and more than $200 in change from his home.
The man told patrol that he believes an estranged family member may have been the culprit, as "an unfriendly dog loose inside of the residence that would have been aggressive with anyone unknown to the family."
The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
