TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Niagara Hospice will hold its 11th annual Memorial Butterfly Release from 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Gardens, 4675 Sunset Dr.

The event, open to the community, invites families and individuals who have purchased one of the approximately 400 butterflies to release them in memory or honor of someone special to them. In addition to the release, activities for the whole family will take place including a bounce house, kids’ games, balloon art, refreshments, and live music by Step in Time.

Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator Mandy Raff said “the butterfly release is definitely one of our most-loved events. It provides an opportunity for families and individuals to celebrate the people closest to them, and it brings the community together in a very special way.”

All proceeds from the event will benefit Niagara Hospice.
