HARTLAND — A 29-year-old Medina man was charged Friday afternoon with reckless endangerment in an incident that injured a Williamsville woman.

According to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the woman, 44, suffered injuries to her right arm, chest and head when she was struck by debris from an explosion at 8449 Seaman Road.

The report states that Anthony J. Nappa, 735 S. Main St., Medina, shot a 7.62 millimeter rifle at a target filled with about a half pound of tannerite. The woman, who was standing about 60 feet from the target, was struck by debris from the explosion and fell to the ground. She was treated on-scene by paramedics from the Hartland Fire Company and then transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight.

Nappa was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at the Town of Hartland Court on July 22.
