TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An inmate at the Niagara County Jail was charged Friday morning with hiding prison contraband.

According to a report released by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Robert W. Francis, 23, 2413 Cleveland Ave., Niagara Falls, was found to have nine orange Suboxone films hidden under his bed in the I-Block. Suboxone is used to treat opiate addictions, but must be prescribed.

Francis was arraigned in Town of Cambria Court Friday morning and returned to the Niagara County Jail with a $500 bail on the new charges of possession of contraband and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Patrol secured the Suboxone strips in for testing and processing by the Niagara County Forensics Laboratory.
