TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A North Canal Road couple told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that an unknown person stole a jar of money and a GPS from their cars over the weekend.
According to the report, the couple noticed the GPS and jar of money missing Sunday morning. The theft occurred sometime Saturday night or early Sunday.
Whoever stole their items also rifled through the gloveboxes on their vehicles, the report say, but only took the GPS and money and did not damage anything. Both vehicles had been left unlocked during the night.
The value of the GPS was estimated to be approximately $200, while the jar contained about $25 in cash and coins. Patrol advised the couple to lock their vehicles at night and considers the case closed due to a lack of evidence.
