ENP STAFF REPORTS

NEWFANE — Vandals damaged a basketball support wall on Corwin Avenue and a car parked on Exchange Street late Thursday or early Friday.
According to a report filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, sometime between 8 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, a basketball court support wall had been spray painted red, green and blue by an unknown person or people. The damage to the basketball court support wall is valued around $200 and will be fixed by the homeowner, who told patrol he had no idea who may have done the damage.
A second report claimed that sometime between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, an unknown person or people spray painted the passenger side of a Dale Road man's vehicle while it was parked on Exchange Street. In that instance, the vandal used red spray paint and sprayed a single line down the entire right side of the vehicle. There is also some splashes of green paint on the right side of the vehicle believed to be from the remaining paint of an empty paint can. The complainant said that the right side of the vehicle was facing the road and that at no time did he see or hear anyone outside of the residence.
The two homes where the incidents occurred are about a half mile apart. NCSO said that there would be increased patrol in the later hours of the day in that area.
