Emergency responders assist at an accident scene on Route
425 in Cambria this afternoon.
CAMBRIA — One person has been taken to Erie County Medical Center via Mercy Flight following an afternoon accident on Route 425 that has closed Lower Mountain Road near Shawnee Road.

The 2 p.m. accident was caused when a truck which was northbound on Shawnee Road tried to make the turn onto Lower Mountain Road, according to eyewitness observers. The truck skidded and rolled over onto its side.

Cambria and Shawnee volunteer firefighters along with Rural Metro Ambulance arrived to the scene and Mercy Flight landed directly behind the wreck to take one of the three victims to Erie County Medical Center.

The state Department of Transportation says Lower Mountain Road between Shawnee and Wilson-Cambria roads may be closed for up to six hours.

Skid marks show the route of the truck that rolled over onto Lower Mountain Road from Shawnee Road.
