Local businessman and conservationist Bob Confer will debut a new weekly column geared towards nature lovers next week on EastNiagaraPost.com.
Confer has written a weekly column for Greater Niagara Newspapers since 2005 and wrote a series of political columns for The New American, the official magazine of the John Birch Society. He said he has always wanted to have a column devoted to nature.
The weekly column "Exploring the Niagara Frontier" will run every Thursday on EastNiagaraPost.com. It will deal with science and nature with a focus on local wildlife, local issues of interest in science, information on local parks and nature trails.
Professionally, Confer is vice president of Confer Plastics in North Tonawanda. He lives in Gasport with his wife and daughter. He also maintains the blog, "Life and Times in Gasport, New York," devoted to news in the Gasport community.
