SOMERSET — Daniel J. Dembrowki, 52, 1359 Hartland Road, Barker, was charged Sunday with numerous traffic infractions after Niagara County Sheriff's deputies spotted him driving a moped southbound on Hartland Road without wearing a helmet.
Patrol initiated a traffic stop shortly after noon and found that there were no plates on the yellow Honda moped that Dembrowski was operating. Dembrowski told patrol that he was just testing the moped because it just got new tires, but he did not have a license.
A routine DMV check showed that Dembrowksi's license had been suspended since May of 2007. Patrol also found that the moped was uninspected, unregistered and uninsured.
Dembrowski was placed in custody for listed charges and taken to Niagara County Jail where he was held on $250 police bail. He is set to return to Town of Somerset Court on Thursday. Jim's Towing responded and towed the moped to their facility.
