ENP STAFF REPORTS

PENDLETON — A 32-year-old Woodlands man was given a reckless driving ticket, among others, this morning on South Transit Road after a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy saw him do a "wheelie" on his motorcycle.
According to the report filed by NCSO, Patrick Thompson, 1236 Maplewood Dr., was southbound on South Transit when patrol saw the front tire from his blue sports-style motorcycle lift up off the roadway.
Patrol performed a DMV computer check on the plate attached to the bike and found it to be both expired and having belonged to another motorcycle. Patrol also found that Thompson had only a motorcycle learners permit.
Asked why he was riding the motorcycle without a supervising licensed motorcycle operator, Thompson said that he thought he could ride it as long as he was "like a mile or two from his house," according to the report. He also said the "wheelie" was unintentional. Finally, the report said that Thompson said "that he thought patrol would give him a break because he could have just took off and Patrol would have never caught him," according to the report.
He was issued tickets for reckless driving, speeding, unlicensed operation, and driving with improper plates. He was released on an appearance ticket and allowed to walk the motorcycle to his residence.
