TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies charged 43-year-old Lisa M. Dietz, 36 S. Bristol St., with petit larceny and conspiracy following an incident at Dollar General, 5921 S. Transit Road.
According to the report filed by NCSO, Dietz was seen with a black male around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday concealing merchandise in their clothing and exiting the store without paying. The pair could be seen on surveillance video, each hiding a bottle of body wash and leaving. The approximately value of items stolen is $10.
A store employee got their license plate number after they left and called police, who found Dietz at her home and brought her back to the store for positive identification around 8:30 p.m.
Dietz told patrol that she did not know who the black male was, stating she had been in the store with a white woman, adding that she didn't see anyone that matched his description in the store. The surveillance video clearly shows that the two parties were together, and there was no other female present, the report says.
Dietz was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy and petit larceny and returned to her home with an appearance ticket for Town of Lockport Court on May 20.
As patrol was dropping Dietz off, she told patrol, "I know who that (man) is and I'm gonna call him and have him turn himself in because I'm not taking this charge for him ... His first name is Charles."
