MIDDLEPORT — Roy-Hart voters overwhelmingly approved the district's $22,363,886 budget today, with 280 voting in favor of it and 102 voting against.
The budget increase of 1.54 percent carries with it a tax levy of $9,639,652, up 2.94 percent. That means that the property tax rate in Royalton will be $24 per $1,000 assessed property value, up 2.94 percent; $22.08 per $1,000 assessed property value in Hartland, up 2.94 percent; and $22.08 per $1,000 assessed property value in Lockport, up 2.94 percent.
With three candidates to choose from and three seats, the board of education race was a foregone conclusion. Keith Bond received the most votes of the candidates with 305, followed by Kenneth Koch with 300 and Jeffrey Waters with 297.
