HARTLAND — A Middleport man returned from an EMS call early this morning to find that his 2010 Ford F-150 pickup was stolen, according to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies.
The man had responded to Boyer's Tavern, 8757 Ridge Road, where he parked the vehicle in the parking lot near the southwest corner of the building. He attended to the emergency call, going with the ambulance to transport a female to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane around 1:10 a.m.
The man said that when he returned to Boyer's Tavern about an hour later, he discovered his vehicle was missing from the parking lot and the bar was closed. The bartender working during the EMS call told patrol that when she closed the bar at 2 a.m., the truck was no longer in the parking lot. She also said that two white males in their early 20s had been her only customers for the last hour of business and they left the bar just prior to her.
The complainant told patrol that the 2010 Ford F-150 XLT was black in color with four doors. The vehicle had a full-size light bar mounted on the roof and a tonneau cover over the bed of the truck. There is a small ITT parking sticker on the rear window on the driver's side. Inside the vehicle, there was a complete 800 EMS Equipment Bag valued at approximately $5,000. There was also an envelope in the center console containing $100 cash.
The complainant told patrol that he had left the truck unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
This case will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
