ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
A 15-year-old girl reported missing last week was returned home by police late Wednesday night — and then again Thursday morning.
Misty Sink, who had last been seen on May 22, was picked up by the Lockport Police Department and returned to her Ernest Road home around 10 p.m Wednesday, according to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. However, neither NCSO nor the girl's school had received word that she was found. As a result, when she arrived at school Thursday morning, school staff called NCSO, who arrived at the school and transported her home, only to be told that she had returned the previous night and was sent to school as normal.
Patrol advised that when a missing person is found, they need to be notified. They then had NCSO Dispatch remove the juvenile from NYSPIN as a missing person.
