With a pace under six minutes per mile, Will Kolek moved too fast for the camera. His first-place time of 18:28 by far outpaced the rest of the pack.

Will Kolek of Middleport outpaced the rest of the runners in the Lockport Unity Run 5K this morning by more than two and a half minutes.

Kolek's time of 18:28 was two minutes and 34 seconds better than the second-place time of Scott Matusak of Lockport. Barry Latner, also of Lockport, placed third, just 10 seconds behind Matusak.

Gianni Kahle of Lockport snagged the best overall female time of 22:29.

In all, 74 runners crossed the finish line in this morning's race, according to score-this.com, which handled the official timekeeping for the race, to benefit Lockport CARES and other charities.

The event was sponsored by Canal Side Express Lube & Service, Iron Order Motorcycle Club, Lockport Police Hickory Club, Lockport United Church of Christ, and Refuge Temple of Lockport.
