ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
APPLETON — The 2010 Ford F-150 stolen while a Middleport volunteer firefighter was out on an EMS call early this morning was recovered by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies shortly before noon.
According to a report filed by NCSO, the vehicle was found unoccupied in the lot of Keg Creek on Lake Road. It had damage in several locations on the vehicle, which appeared to have struck an unknown object in the front and rear of the passenger side. The passenger side of the vehicle was scratched and the right rear tire appeared to be damaged.
Approximately 30 feet east of the vehicle next to a guard rail, patrol located a partially burned cigarette. Approximately 10 feet to the west of the vehicle, patrol located a plastic bag with what appeared to be residue of a green leafy vegetable matter believed to be marihuana. Patrol secured and submitted the evidence to the NCSO Lab for testing.
Harrington's responded and secured the vehicle at an inside storage facility in order for NCSO ID to respond to process the vehicle.
There was no word as to whether the victim's $5,000 EMS equipment bag or other belongings were still in the vehicle.
