ONEONTA — Jennifer Rushlow of Gasport was one of 59 SUNY Oneonta undergraduate students selected to receive the college's 2013-2014 Best and Brightest awards. Rushlow, who is majoring in environmental science, was honored April 29 at the college's annual Students of Distinction Reception.
The awards recognize students who demonstrate outstanding academic engagement, co-curricular engagement, and service to the college and/or local community. Students are nominated for the awards each semester by faculty and staff.
A liberal arts college focused on teaching and learning, SUNY Oneonta ranks 16th among the "Top Public Regional Universities--North" in the 2014 U.S. News and World Report rankings, and has been named to the Kiplinger's magazine list of the "100 Best Values in Public Colleges" for eight consecutive years. The college enrolls 6,000 students in its 70 undergraduate majors and 14 graduate programs.
