A National Weather Service issued wind advisory is in effect until 2 p.m.

The wind advisory, which is active throughout Western New York, calls for southwest winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of up to 50 mph.

Winds of this magnitude could bring down some tree limbs, resulting in isolated power outages. In fact, nearly 300 Lockport customers lost power this morning in the area of the Niagara County Fairgrounds, although the cause was not stated.

Today's forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of snow with a high of 41 and an overnight low of 26. Sunday looks to be sunny with a high of 54 and a low of 34. There's a high likelihood of rain on Monday with a high of 59 and a low of 40.

Tuesday there's an 80 percent chance of showers with a high of 47 and a low of 31. Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high of 43 and a low of 31. Thursday offers a chance of more showers with a high of around 57 and a low of 38.
