The Newfane Free Library is holding informational sessions Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the proposed transition of the library to a public school district library.
The sessions, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, are open to all Newfane School District residents. Library trustees will be on hand to discuss the materials that were presented at the March 25 Public Meeting that was held at the Newfane Community Center.
The public is invited to attend either or both of the sessions. A session was also held on Saturday.
A vote on the issue will be held May 20, the same day as the Newfane School District budget vote. If passed, a $125,000 budget will be established for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. The estimated 27-cent-per $1000 library tax will replace the funding previously provided by the Town of Newfane.
More information about this can be found on the Library Vote page on this website.
