A Fernwood Drive woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday that someone stole several items from her unlocked vehicle.
According to the report, sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown person entered her car, taking at least seven CDs, a sterling silver necklace, a white gold necklace, approximately $10 in cash and coins and two rebate checks, valued at $85. The total value for everything taken was $365.
The woman told patrol that the vehicle was parked in her driveway all week and that she didn't enter her vehicle and notice the theft of the listed items until Thursday at approximately 1 p.m. However, she said that on Tuesday morning she noticed a set of suspicious footprints leading along her driveway and vehicle. The footprints led into the backyard of her residence and towards a playground in the Woodlands park. No suspect information could be provided to Patrol at the time of report.
