HEATHER N. GRIMMER/CONTRIBUTOR - A Lockport Police Department cruiser sits in front of 290 Niagara Street Friday night. Police are trying to determine the cause of  death of a woman at that address.

Lockport Police are still looking for answers this morning concerning the death of a woman on Niagara Street Friday night.

A release by the department says that "Detectives are interviewing people in the area to determine cause of death. More information will be provided as the situation develops."

Sources Friday night said the death was being considered a potential homicide, the first in the City of Lockport in 2014.

Several members of LPD were seen going into an out of 290 Niagara Street Friday evening and night, as was the Niagara County coroner. One neighbor said the house has been known for drugs for years.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LPD at 433-7700.
