The owners of Lake Effect Ice Cream announced this morning via their Facebook page that they will be opening for the season on Good Friday — April 18.
The artisan ice cream shop on Canal Street in Lockport will have limited hours for the start of the season, open 5-9 p.m. on Good Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 19, and closed on Easter Sunday. For the week of April 21, the shop will be open 4-9 on weekdays and 11-9 on Saturday and Sunday.
The Facebook post, which promised a "big announcement tomorrow" also stated that the owners are going through job applications and will be choosing new staff within a week, which they will also announce on their Facebook page.
"We have 12 staff members coming back and are excited to have both new faces at the shop and our expert ice cream scoopers coming back," the post said.
The post also shows photos of some new accoutrements in the downtown shop.
