The Niagara Wine Trail annual Be Mine with Wine event kicks off Friday with wine and chocolate pairings at the 20 participating wineries.

Tickets for the three-day-long event are $30 in advance or $35 at the door of any participating winery. They include three wine tastings and a chocolate sample at each winery, plus a commemorative wine glass from your starting winery.

Wineries include:

  • Long Cliff Winery where wines will be paired with three specialty chocolates from "Chocolate Covered" by Jim Otis.
  • Schulze Vineyards, which will offer wines paired with a dark chocolate torte with cherry compote from Cream and Sugar Ice Cream Cafe, Lockport.
  • Spring Lake Winery with "Chocolate Cabernet" Wine Ice Cream, by Mercer’s Dairy.
  • Vizcarra Vineyards with "Death by Chocolate" mini cupcakes with your choice of chocolate gauche, raspberry gauche, or peanut butter, butter cream topping, made by the new pastry department at Becker Farms.
  • A Gust of Sun Winery, where wines paired with chocolate bark from Stuffed Chocolate in Amherst.
  • Arrowhead Spring Vineyards will pair wines with Lindt truffles. (only open Friday)
  • Eveningside Vineyards will pair Alethea's Milk Chocolates paired with Pincab mulled wine. (only open Friday)
  • Black Willow Winery will feature their own Black Willow Winery chocolate barks and brittles paired with one of their grape or honey wines.
  • Honeymoon Trail Winery will serve Decadent Chocolate Covered Cherry wine paired with cheesecake. (closed Sunday)
  • Victorianbourg Wine Estate will have chocolate swirl cheesecake paired with their Chocolate Obsession wine.
  • Flight of Five Winery will feature Barker Chocolate Box chocolate fountain and barks paired with two of their signature wines.
  • The Winery at Marjim Manor will have chocolate hearts made by Niagara's Honeymoon Sweets, in Niagara Falls, (featured chocolatier at recent Academy awards), paired with their wines.
  • Schwenk Wine Cellars will pair their wines with Oliver's Chocolates from Batavia.
  • Niagara Landing Wine Cellars has specialty chocolates made with their own wines, by Jacolatte in Wheatfield.
  • BlackBird Cider Works will have dark chocolate hearts from Fowler's, paired with Organic Oak Barrel Aged Semi-Sweet.
  • Lake Ontario Winery will feature Black Pearl Chocolate Truffle brownies paired with their Black Pearl wine and other reds.
  • Midnight Run Wine Cellars will offer Cabernet Sauvignon, infused chocolate mini cup. Sample wine directly from the chocolate cup, made by Midnight Run Wine Cellars.
  • Leonard Oakes Estate Winery will have their 2011 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine paired with White Chocolate shaped hearts with Lemon Zest from Della's Chocolate.
  • Freedom Run Winery will have chocolates paired with a choice of dry or sweet red & white wines.
  • Chateau Niagara Winery will pair their dessert wine, Kagor, with chocolate truffles in raspberry cocoa.
