An Upper Mountain Road man was charged with DWI early Sunday morning after a rollover accident on Lower Mountain Road in Sanborn.
According to a report by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Aaron McMichael, 32, of Lockport, fled the area after his vehicle rolled over in front of 3540 Lower Mountain Road.
Lewiston Police Department used a K9 to track him, which was unsuccessful. However, around 3:45 a.m., he was located. by NCSO Capt. Greg Schuey in the area of Shawnee and Stoelting roads.
The report states that McMichael told NCSO that he had had 8 or 9 beers at a Ransomville bar prior to driving his vehicle. He refused to submit to a chemical breath test, however.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to use designated lane, moving from lane unsafely, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and refusal to take a breath test.
After refusing medical treatment, McMichael was taken to Niagara County Jail and held on $250 bail. His vehicle was towed and a 12-hour hold was placed on it.
