A Lockport man was driving on Robson Road in the Town of Hartland late Wednesday morning when he heard a "pop" and began to smell smoke. When the man pulled to the side of the road, he saw flames coming from the engine compartment.
Niagara County Sheriff's deputies arrived shortly after noon and used a department-issued fire extinguisher to put out the flames under the hood and inside the vehicle under the dashboard area. Hartland Fire Company responded to ensure the fire was extinguished. Harrington's towing responded and towed the vehicle to a Lockport auto repair shop.
No one was injured in the incident.
