Richard Lugo, of Gasport was one of 18 Mercyhurst University students who traveled to Dungarvan, Ireland, for a week to study Celtic mythology during J-Term, a three-week semester that allows students to log extra credits toward their degrees.
Lugo is studying anthropology and architecture at Mercyhurst.
English Professor Heidi Hosey, Ph.D., who also serves as dean of international education, arranged the trip. After reading texts from early Irish myth, the group traveled for a week throughout Ireland to experience the sites depicted.
