The National Weather Service is calling for a high near 40 today with a chance of flurries. The temperature will continue to rise overnight - all the way up to 47 - turning flurries into rain.

Saturday's high will be almost 50 and the low will be right around the freezing mark. The rain will turn back into snow or freezing drizzle. Sunday shows a high of 36 and a low of 32 with more freezing drizzle possible.

Monday and Tuesday will have highs of 43 and 39 with more rain and/or snow possible.

The warmer weather and rain is expected to cause flooding in areas prone to it. The freezing drizzle, meanwhile, will likely lead to slippery roads and sidewalks, the weather service says.

The average high temperature for East Niagara for mid-January is 24 degrees. The average low is 17.
