A Town of Lockport resident reported to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office early Tuesday morning his Leer pickup truck cap was missing from his 2004 Ford Ranger.
The Purdy Road man said his wife last noticed the truck cap on his vehicle on Nov. 30 at about 11:30 p.m.
The complainant said that he was not paying attention when he left for work the next morning but when he arrived at work, he noticed its absence.
He said he was not sure if the cap came off of his truck on the ride to work at first but realized that the cap cleats, which were still on his truck, were loosened by hand which is why he waited so long to report the incident to police.
There are no suspects and there is no evidence at this time.
