A 42-year-old woman was arrested Sunday evening by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies and charged with possession of marijuana.
After Albert E. Allen was seen turning westbound on West Main Street in Olcott without using a turn signal, police found that Allen's driver's license was suspended. He was arrested without incident.
The vehicle is registered to the passenger, Crystal L. Heschke, who was also in the vehicle. Police asked her to exit the vehicle and she complied. When questioned if there was any illegal narcotics inside the vehicle, Heschke stated, "No, you can search it if you want, there is nothing in the vehicle, but I do have a little pot in my purse," according to the arrest report.
Heschke then removed the suspected marihuana from inside her purse and handed it to patrol. Patrol searched the interior of the vehicle, no further narcotics were located.
Heschke was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana and ordered to appear at Town of Newfane Court on at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The suspected marijuana was placed into an evidence bag and secured into the evidence locker in order to be sent to the laboratory for further testing.
