Reading has its rewards.

According to the Newfane Middle School Facebook page, students who submitted summaries on four books that they read over the summer will receive an invitation and permission slips to a special field trip to Niagara University.

The Jan. 11 trip will include a tour of the Castellani Art Museum, food, and a men's hockey game between the Niagara University Purple Eagles and the American International College Yellow Jackets.

The trip will leave the school at 3:15 p.m. and return around 10 p.m.
