The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Advisory for Niagara, Orleans and Erie counties including all of East Niagara.
The weather service says that between 3 and 5 inches of snow is expected to fall between early morning and 2 p.m. Along with the snow, winds of 15 to 25 mph - with gusts of up to 35 mph - are expected. The snow coupled with the wind will result in blowing slow and visibility as low as a quarter mile at times.
At least a 50 percent chance of snow is in the forecast for the remainder of the week with frigid temperatures, as low as 0 degrees on Friday.
